BUILDING YOUR SPRING GOALS

“It’s not about being PERFECT it’s about having PERSISTANCE!”  First, everyone is different – each week will absolutely fluctuate based on your body, workout history, lifestyle and GOALS. When building your Spring Goals think BALANCE, each week should include Strength, Cardio and Flexibility.  

One thing is for sure, you should start your SPRING GOALS with a specific goal.  Are you trying to reduce bodyfat? Manage Stress? Create beautiful sexy arms for those summer dresses? Summer Wedding? Knowing the why can help create a customized BALANCED plan. Of course, it depends on your level of activity.  If you’re starting from scratch, 1 to 2 days a week might be a great place to begin.  If you’ve already pretty active, you may want to aim for 4-6 days a week!

A BALANCED week for me includes 2 HIIT (High Intensity Interval Sessions) days mixed with strength training.  For instance, after my strength training session for Biceps, Triceps and Core I’ll hit the Spin Bike or Elliptical for 20 Minutes of intensity. The principle is simple. You go almost as hard as you can for short period of time, then rest for enough time to let you recover enough to go hard again! However, my strength training session for my legs is so intense all by itself! No cardio on that day jump warm up and hit it! I won’t lie, my favorite strength training session is Chest. I love tossing around 50-pound dumbbells and I usually incorporate a 20 Minute HIIT session too! I also like to incorporate 1 lower-intensity cardio session day it is my therapy session clears the brain and 1 ACTIVE rest day GENTLE YOGA Session.  I like this approach because if forces my body to constantly adapt to different stimulus.  Each workout compliments another.  Yoga allows me to be flexible and improve range of motion for strength training, while strength training and HIIT workouts are time efficient and boost my metabolism, which they all help me reduce STRESS!!! And we all could use that these days!
