MEET THE TEAM

Cindy Treaster

FOUNDER + TRAINER

Did I always have the passion for fitness?  NO!  It wasn’t until after my son was born that I decided to change my body.  During the 80′s I fell in love with steel, which lead me to Women’s Bodybuilding. I have competed in Women’s Bodybuilding in the states of Nevada and South Carolina. I have worked in health clubs from South Carolina to Las Vegas.  Leading aerobic classes, giving fitness orientations, creating workout programs, selling club memberships and assisting with the operating side.

One day I was reading a research article by William Kraemer, of Ball State University in Indiana, on why women need weight training and it was while reading this article I started to think why are women so scared of muscle and weights.  This is when I decided to find a way to help women learn what I already knew.

It was this sentiment that became my motivation to develop a training program that was safe, effective, fun and affordable for women of all ages and all fitness levels.  As a certified personal fitness trainer, I put together my knowledge as a trainer and as a woman and created the “Real Women Lift” Strength Training Program.  Personally, I don’t agree with the concept that one program fits both men and women.

My mission is to ”Provide women the inspiration and information they need to create their own best bodies.”

Michelle Treaster

TRAINER

Michelle has a lengthy background with athletics and fitness beginning in high school in Maine, winning 3 State Championships, one each for: Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. She continued her athletics after high school as a Division I Softball player at Binghamton University, NY 2005-07. In college, Michelle discovered the benefits and value of proper weight and strength training.

Since moving to St. Augustine in 2008, sports and fitness have always had a place and priority in Michelle’s life in some way or another. From coaching softball at St. Joseph’s Academy, to training and running in local road races or Reebok Spartan races, to finding excitement and community in HIIT style group training.

As Michelle says “The desire and aspiration to be fit, strong and healthy will always be a main component of my life and guide my overall lifestyle. Being able to guide women in the community through training and fitness to better establish and maintain a strong and healthy lifestyle is rewarding and worthwhile. As a fitness trainer at Real Women Lift, I am excited at the opportunity to establish long and meaningful relationships with women pursuing strength and fitness together!”
